9 Budget Accent Rocking Chairs for Living Rooms (Mid-Century Modern)

I wasn’t sure if a rocking chair was the right type of accent chair for our living room, but now I’m so glad we got one.

A rocking chair is more interesting than a regular old chair! And in designing our living room from scratch, we didn’t want to overload with furniture. A simple rocking chair as a statement piece and in a nice color feels just right.

We got our Teddy Rocking Chair in a subdued yellow color, and put it in a corner of our living room. I had been looking for a rocking chair that would have “texture,” to contrast with our green velvet couch.

This rocking chair has a mid-century look, which was exactly what I was searching for, and I wanted an easy way to land on this design. The rocker legs are minimalist, and there’s a pocket for a phone on the side of the chair.

A similiar, if not identical, rocking chair is also sold at Target, Wayfair and Walmart. The only differences I can see among them are sometimes the black bracket for the rocking legs is desgined differently; otherwise, I can nearly guarantee that all these come from the same factory and designer.

I find that any type of furniture under $150 immediately seems affordable, and the Yaheetech Leather Glider Chair on Amazon is a faux leather accent chair for a room that needs some pizzazz.

One thing I think is cool about it is that it even looks good if you have two of it, and pair them together with a small side table in between. That way, two people can rock in tandem, while watching TV or hanging out at a gathering.

The George Oliver Rocking Chair has a lot in common with the others in this list, but as a difference, it has a cushion on the seat, and a wing-back design. I think it makes a great accent chair in the mid-century modern style, if that is your intended interior design for a room.

It has the same simple legs that I’m seeing in a lot of budget rocking chairs, and those are the light wood.

The Costway Mid-Century Upholstered Rocking Chair is one of the most timeless choices in this bunch of accent rocking chairs. If I had this one, I’d put it in a bedroom, family room or sunroom in my house because the dark wood legs are chic and the muted colors go with anything.

One thing to know is that this chair has a pretty low seat and a pretty tall back, so while it’s good for taller people, they may feel like they’re “falling into it.”

HOMREST Mid-Century Modern Upholstered Rocking Chair

I’m enjoying the simple lines in this tall-back MCM rocking chair. The HOMREST Mid-Century Modern Upholstered Rocking Chair has more thick and supportive cushions than others I’ve seen, so it’s ideal for relaxing or even taking a nap!

The bonus (and a great highlight for the price point) is the ottoman it comes with. Often, I’ve seen that ottomans are sold separately, but this one comes with the ottoman by default. I’ve noticed that my legs are more comfortable when I sit with them up on an ottoman.

Mercury Row Seaberg Upholstered Rocking Chair

The design in the Mercury Row Seaberg Upholstered Rocking Chair is one of my favorites. I especially like the blue hue that it comes in, which looks nice with greens, reds, grays and whites, depending on your design style.

Because of the dark wood and simple lines, this one can also fit in with Scandi style and minimalism. One good thing for me to point out is that this one has a lower back, so it may not have a full place to rest your head if you’re on the taller side!

Mercury Row Rosinski Rocking Chair

Ooh, the plush look of the tufted backrest on the Rosinski Rocking Chair is easy on the eyes. The design of this rocking chair is a bit more unique as an accent chair because the seat is nice and thick, so the rocking legs are shorter and closer to the floor.

This rocking chair looks more like a traditional upholstered chair to go in an upscale living space with lots of flair. As of now, it comes in a set of colors to choose from, but hurry, because they sell out fast.

Wahson PU Leather Mid-Century Rocking Chair

To add a bit of warmth to any room, the Wahson Leather Rocking Chair does the trick. It finishes off a room perfectly with a timeless design that I think goes well with richly-colored woods and modern finishes.

I would probably pair this chair with something like a white couch, or even put it in the corner of a spacious dining room, because I think it has a luxe look to it.

This one is not so budget, but it’s special, so it has the last spot in this list!

This accent chair for a living room, baby room or family room has some great shapes to it, with two “rolls” for armrests and luxe gold finishes. It has big, firm cushions and an oversized headrest, so actually, it would be great to have in a bedroom of a young child!

I can see this one fitting in nicely to a living room with lots of metallic touches, or a family room with modern elements.
